Book stuff.

I haven't talked/whored enough about that lately, I suppose.

You can win a signed copy here.

If you can, come by and meet me and my sorry butt on Thursday, May 14th at 7pm at the Barnes and Noble in Greenville, NC.

Also, if you are a glutton for punishment and enjoy such things AND if you are in the Eastern North Carolina area, you can see me and my potentially haggard face on WITN News at Sunrise on May 13th. It's an early one, I'll just warn you.

I'm working on some fun freelance stuff and the next book is coming right along.

Also, this has nothing to do with anything, but I am horrified and amused by this story about a Man who smuggled birds in his pants, which sounds like my idea of Hell.

Sweet. I'm aiming for the give away!

I read that bird story yesterday, and all I could think about was how he managed to attach so many birds to his socks? And what if they bit him? And what kind of person was the one who spotted the bird poo on his shoe and went right to bird smuggling? Geez.

In a sort of related story, and since the guilty parties have passed on - my parents smuggled a parrot from Hawaii. They had so much fun with him they decided to take him home. This was in the 60s(?). He almost asphyxiated in my mother's suitcase but pulled through.

Can you imagine being stuck in a suitcase with someone's dirty underwear for 20 hours? I hope that bird smuggling guy had good hygiene.

Dude. You so totally need to do a signing at the Barnes & Noble in Kennesaw. I don't have any pull with said store, but I know this great place where you can stay for free. ;P
