Proof that Jason is a patient, patient man.

So I love my dog like really, really a lot. As I've mentioned.

Recently I became quite panicked when I heard about the Pet Food Recall. Because I shop at Kroger and that was one of the places that sold the food. Then I heard it was only the "wet" brands of food and Ginger only eats the "dry" brands of food. And I felt momentarily better.

But seriously? I should stay away from television. Especially informercials and the news. Because last night? I watched the news and heard about more pets dying. And one of the signs that they were really sick was that they were drinking a lot of water.

Last night, Jason and I were sitting on the couch and Ginger began to whine a bit. She went to her water dish and began to nudge it around. Jason went and filled up her bowl.

I, predictably, panicked.

"Jason!" I shrieked. "I'm so afraid that Ginger has been exposed to tainted dog food and now she's going to die!"

Jason looked at me as though I had two heads and said, "Um, honey? Remember? It was only the wet dog food, not the dry food. Ginger doesn't even eat that brand."

I was near tears. "But JASON! I saw on ABC News tonight that dogs who ate the tainted food are drinking a lot of WATER! And she's drinking a LOT."

Jason sighed.

"Honey? First of all, why were you watching ABC News?"

"I was waiting for JUDGE JUDY to come on!" I said. "And what difference does that make anyway?"

"Secondly," he continued. "It's eighty degrees outside."

"So?"

"She's wearing a FUR COAT."

"Oh."

"Also," he said, sitting back down, "we don't even feed her that brand."

"Oh."

A few minutes passed.

"So, she's fine right?" I asked.

"She's fine," he confirmed. "You? Questionable."

How he tolerates me and my ludicrousness, I will never know. The man deserves some kind of medal.

I freaked when I heard about the pet food recall too but was quickly releived when I found out that it was the wet food, and not the dry food, which my dogs consume. But still? Totally scary. And Jason? Totally awesome!

I would so be like that with any animal after that scare! So not ludicrous! Ginger is part of the family...completely understand the concern!

I'm the panicky type as well. Proof? I kept watching the news, expecting to hear that the recall had jumped to human food. I was certain that any day they would announce a recall of Starbucks coffee. I would be dead for sure.

My husband sells Iams to Food Lion so this dog food recall has been lots of fun for him. But it really is just the wet dog food! The company who makes the dry dog food doesn't make the wet dog food for Iams so that is why the dry dog food is safe. I think it might work the same for the other companies too.

Chick, you are too funny. I love my dog like that too and as I was reading your post I was thinking,"Sophie was drinking a lot of water tonight too!" And then I thought, "Well, it is a lot warmer and she is a big dog and she has a fur coat and she just got done running through the yard like a hurricane, so why wouldn't she be drinking a gob of water?" Sometimes us ladies just forget to "think".

Mental!

Reminds me of the cat my roommate in college owned. Only I was paranoid it would get out of my sight because of what it used to do to my shoes...
