I had six cans of Diet Pepsi today.
My kidneys? Abhor me.
I've been up since 2am. I can't sleep. And no, it's not because of the caffeine, but that might contribute to my inability to sleep TONIGHT.
I have been a busy, busy bee today and submitted a bunch of my writing to magazines and other things literary. I would be scared, but they probably won't even respond, so why bother?
And frankly? What the hell. You know? I'm over it. They like me or they hate me. If I don't send it, I'll never know.
My mom said something along the lines of, "I'm glad you aren't bothering with that writing thing anymore...you have to eat."
And you know? It just...irked me. Motivated me, maybe. I don't know.
It doesn't matter.
I'm just tired.

I am so glad you did! good for you! I hope you hear from someone soon.
Way to go for submitting your writings!! I? Adore your writing here, so I think they should let you have your OWN magazine!!
xoxo

Good attitude (unlike your mom). Yay you!!
Just remember something that all best selling authors have in common. A slew of rejection letters. If you go to lulu.com they'll turn them into toilet paper for you.
Your writing is fabulous and worthy of publishing. I don't know why I think my opinion matters but, seriously, you're an incredible story teller. And I still think you should compile your open letters into a book. It'd be a unique idea, absolutely hilarious and insightful, and I'd buy a copy for everyone I know.
So there.
Cut back on the pepsi though. I worry.
Have you ever seen what a cola product does when you pour it on a car battery? Be careful - hopefully you only drank so many today because you were a little stressed and that it isn't normal practice. Hope you hear back from one of them soon - You are AWESOME!
I've had "six-pack" days, myself.
Be careful. . .I'll chime in with everyone else. My kidney stone last fall was a beeyotch.
I, for one, am just dying for your writing to come out so that I can say, "hey, I know that chick."
Love ya!
oh my lord. that's a lot of soda - at least it is diet though, right?
I'd say good luck on the writing but you don't need it. You are an AWESOME writer and anyone you submitted to will be lucky to have you.
HA! Mothers! They are priceless. Even when they say things that make you want to strangle them.
Of course, you are a fabulous writer as I and all your other readers already know. The world awaits you.
Good for you! I'd buy your stuff!!
I've totally got my fingers, toes AND eyes crossed for you:)!
So happy you submitted your work :)
I don't want to sound like a broken record, but please be careful with all that soda. The car battery comment made me laugh as I HAVE seen it done and holy CRAP!
Again, I'm thrilled you submitted your writing and I can't wait to read the post that says "Dudes!! I've been published!!"
Oh, they are going to love you!
I am so proud of you! Way to go!
:o)
great job submitting your writing!!!
do you know how many times Carrie (Stephen King) was rejected-- tons! before he finally had someone take it. and the book and Mr. King both became huge successes!!!
YAY!! This is such wonderful news. Surely, you'll hear something. Please let us know when you do! Best of luck!!
Hey Chick,
Just getting a chance to catch up on reading your blog...to use your phrase "oh my frog"! Do NOT listen to your mom...or better yet...use it for motivation and it will be the sweetest revenge when you're published! :-)
I heard on the radio the other day about a book "Simply Happy" or something like that...one of the authors first things to do to be happy..."don't listen to you parents"...that is their negativity and lack of encouragement. Your writing is fabulous!
A quote from Mark Twain..."Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do... Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. "
I really am wishing you the best for 2008! You deserve it and more!
Hugs from a blogging friend,
Cheri
