I don't understand.

Why is it that when women put their weight in online personal ads they always way overestimate? I know some seriously skinny women who put they are "more to love".

And when men put their weight in online personal ads? They way UNDERESTIMATE. They also way underestimate the amount of hair they have and usually, how tall they are.

I don't get that.

That is all.

*edited to add*:

Y'all. For the love of God.

I'm writing something about online personal ads. Just an observation. No marriages were harmed in the making of this blogpost.

Women always have a tendency to undervalue themselves - it's sad. It's also apparently a big issue in job applications. Men will apply to all kinds of jobs they don't really qualify for because they figure they should just go for it. If women don't believe they fit all the requirements perfectly they don't bother. *sigh*

As someone who recently participated in online dating, I agree 100%... except me. I do put more to love... because there is more to love... even though I carry my weight well, I don't think I'm average and I certainly don't feel that I'm athletic. Coaching softball doesn't put me in that category... :D

None of my business, but, I have to ask, who's looking through the personals?

If it's Jason, he may just wake up to a pillow over his face.

I'm just sayin.

Same concept as the pants in the dryer. Woman: Oh I must have gotten fat! These don't fit. Man: Oh the dryer must have shrunk them. These don't fit.

It's because we live in a society that tells us a "plus size model" is a size 12. A 12, people!! How insane is that?!?

I know some perfectly normal sized women who are a size 12. Just because you're not a size Zero doesn't mean you're "more to love." Now, me? I'm definitely "more to love." And I am way-y-y bigger than a 12. Hell, I am 5'11" and haven't been a 12 since jr. high. And I wasn't. fat.!! I am now, but that's another story.

And men? Well, they're just vain creatures. Oh, and add seriously delusional to that. I mean when someone who is 250 lbs. 5'6" and balding shows up to a date after putting that he's 6', 180, full head of hair, what does he honestly THINK will happen?!? Does he say to his date, "Oh, my hair fell out yesterday, I shrank 6 inches, and gained a pound or two since yesterday."

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot??? LOL

I am here to tell you that ALL men lie about their height if they are not at least 6'2". I am 6'1/2" and I know that for a fact. I cannot believe how many men I meet that say they are 6' and then when they have to look up to me insist that I must be about 6'3". But hey, we all know it's not the only size they tend to over-estimate. LMAO

Up until three years ago I dated a lot from the personal ads. I used to put curvy because I didn't really fall into any other class. One of the guys that I met on line said that he was way into curvy women. When we met, he looked me up and down like a chunk of meat and said, "Curvy? I don't know about that. Your not dateable, but you are f**kable." I obviously left. He was a douch.

I read the CL ads as a source of entertainment. It blows my mind how guys think that putting a picture of their weiner in an ad will somehow compel a woman to respond affirmatively. Because seriously? If I've already seen it, why would I need to go out with you?

Don't EVEN get ME started about online dating. I still think my story tops most.

oooo... look... I'm commenting.

I could never do a personal ad, because I would be like 'I'm a fat, pastey-white, mid-twenty's girl with a kid, who is looking for some hot, latin, non-English speaking man to come and pretend to be my cabana boy.'.

LOL.

SO TRUE. After trying the online dating thing, I realized you need to subtract about two inches from a guy's reported height. Who are they kidding?
