I think a lot of people who live here are on crack. Mostly, the people who decide if school should be called off due to inclement weather.
Last night while watching "Deal or No Deal" an alert came on the bottom of the screen that the school's in our county would be closed last night.
Jason and I looked at one another, got up and looked out the window.
It was raining.
We looked at each other again and said something along the lines of, "Is everyone smoking crack?"
I got up this morning and while it was snowing lightly outside, there is approximately 1/4 of an inch of snow on the ground. It's not sticking.
But school is closed. So mom is working from home.
Girl child, who spent most of her early years in Eastern North Carolina (where they got hurricane days but not snow days) just informed me that it's "like a winter wonderland outside!"
I hope she's always so easy to please. 1/4 of an inch of snow hardly seems like a wonderland of any kind to me.

I wish my school got called off that easily when I was little :)
EEEK! You DESERVE a snow day lady! Don't complain dammit!
I love that she loves her winter wonderland. It makes me happy in the heart. I'll come over and enjoy the wonderland with her. I'm easy to please snowwise too you know. :) xoxo

I blogged hopped here from In My Shoes. Your sock post made me smile. lol
Take care
I KNOW! They closed schools here before a single flake fell! And to top it all off, the school board in our county is testing out a new automated system that calls you at 6:30AM! to tell you that school is closed! I teach my kids at home! They don't go to school in this county! But now I have to be awakened by this?!>#*
Oh, the humanity.
Usually that's how it is here, but not on this day. Every other school system around our lovely (ha)city are closed, but not in Memphis and not in shelby county (which is where Memphis is, fyi).
I'm hoping for tomorrow.
We had about half an inch and there was a 2-hour delay. We're not even living in the south! It snows here every year! Embarrassing.
wow. atleast snow stuck where you are. it didn't stick here at all. do you live close to tn? or in it? almost all of the middle tennessee schools were closed today.
It's so funny to hear you talk about snow and snowdays.....
It's snowed 3 times this week alone and as a matter of fact is snowing right now! You can have it for a little while :)
Stay warm!
