The girl has nothing but time.

In case it is not obvious, one of my favorite activities is thinking about things that are unlikely to happen instead of doing something productive like sleeping or cooking nutritious meals for my children. I can't help it. It's sort of my thing.

So I wrote this book and in addition to the fantasies that I have that it will someday be a huge best-seller? I also like to think of the people that I would send my advance review copies (ARC's) to.

You know those little blurbs in book jacket? That say, "This book kicks ass!" or whatever? Those can come from ARC's.

So I started writing a list. Of, you know, all these people I don't know who will never read anything I write, much less a book that has not even been published.

As I was writing my list and not doing my laundry, I thought about all the people I admire and how I could possibly ask them to do me this honor. Since, you know, I don't know any of them or have any idea of how to contact them. And then, since clearly my time is a premium I thought about how cool it would be if they became my bff's and we hung out and stuff.

So as a recap:
The book has not been published.
I have a list of new imaginary friends which includes Tina Fey (and for real? I would crap myself for a chance to even be in the same ROOM as Tina Fey).
The laundry is not done.

Don't you wish you were me?

Although I do not wish I was you (beacause really, I have a craptastic family also) I would love to read your book. (and be in the same room as Tina Fey)

I would also love to read your book. And be in the same room as Tina Fey. Everybody's gotta have goals.

hey, wait, am I going to get an ARC? I know I'm in the the Tina Fey league but I would be all like "CHICK KICKS ASS" and all that.

I am glad you're you, and I'm me -- and that we know each other. What I'm dying to know is. . . the list of people you want to review the book.

Pretty cool....

I've never written more than a grocery list and I totally do the same thing.

I figure that for people who read or write it is about the same as people who practice their Emmy speeches into shampoo bottles!

I've always wanted to be a book reviewer and toss all those big works around.

I could totally pull it off.

Can I be on the list?

I would read your book and then I would also say how awesome it is because I know it will be.

But nobody would care, because I'm not Tina Fey.

And she's way cooler than me, for sure.

You KNOW I think you're the bomb diggity. YOU KNOW IT.

Also, I'm on an early reviewer program at the site You might check and see if your publisher would consider participating in the program there. The people in it are crrrrrazy for books, the just love them, and they are encouraged to post the reviews on library thing and to their own blogs. Just an idea!

A healthy imaginary life is just that - healthy. :-)

Plus I think this kind of thinking is the whole if you build it, they will come mentality, which is not a bad thing at all.

If I suddenly become famous will you add me to your ARC list?

If David Sedaris wanted to get on my bandwagon, I think I would piss myself. Dream on baby, who knows one day it could come true.
