Someone's in the kitchen with Chicka...

So I'm becoming a much better cook. Really. I've always cooked, but I'm getting better. More adventurous. Making things that DON'T come in boxes.

I know. Amazing.

Do you have suggestions for good cooking blogs? I'd love to read some.

chopstirmix.blogspot.com

Diary of a Modern Matriarch and Cass justed it recently. I haven't made anything off the site, but they all sound good. And, the majority of what they post is aimed at healthy eating.

Wanna come HERE and cook for me?! Please?!

Try Ree's recipes over at Confessions of a Pioneer Woman.

Well, I was about to pimp myself, but Kellie did it for me (love her).

Cass and I just started Chop.Stir.Mix. and the recipes are aimed to be easy, yummy, and most often, healthy. (except my drunken oatmeal cookies. Those are not. LOL)

You gotta check out thepioneerwoman.com - it's my "go-to" site for new cooking ideas!

I am totally going to pimp myself. I was really good at posting recipes for a while, but then I kinda stopped cooking.

If I think someone might be watching, I may actually start trying things again.

If you haven't, I think you should read the book Julie & Julia. I thought it was hilarious :D

Ree's recipes are good. So are the recipes at the Humble Housewife blog (run by Deborah - who's lovely!).

Hey Ms. Thang! I'm with you on this. I want to be more creative in the kitchen. With the moving, we're trying to use up stuff in our pantry without buying anymore groceries. So I'm being creative, or trying to. I think one important thing is having a well-stocked pantry as far as spices and such, with I do not, and do not know how. Oh, and the knowing what goes well with what, which I don't. But good luck! Maybe you and boy child can learn together since he's such a good little budding cook! Oh, and I know Jason is a good resource as well!

Some friends and I started a recipe blog a while back... Eat It And Weep

I also try to link other good recipe/food/drink blogs & sites that I find so I think I just added all of the above mentioned ones. Anyone who wants to join in is always welcome to email me as well to be sent an invitation. :)

Wow, I'm going to have to check out all of these great food blogs!

I like to read Quick Indian Cooking http://www.quickindiancooking.com/
Her recipies are easy and delicious, and she's a great writer who includes delicious photos of all her dishes.

well, I'm guessing you know about Pioneer Woman by now. *grin*

I post WW recipes on my weight loss blog every other day. Also Hungry-Girl has great recipes. Food Network gets a lot of time at our house too. Just sit down and watch a few shows. You'll be hooked!

There are some baking groups out there with hundreds of blogs: tuesdayswithdorie.wordpress.com and (I don't know the address) Daring Bakers. Those blogs are worth a spin and you'll probably find some you like.

The other ones I have in my cooking list are: http://www.101cookbooks.com/
http://canarygirl.com/
http://frigidare-pair.com/ (this one is new, but they're concentrating on things they can freeze for later, busy moms and such)
